Player vs fan jersey sizing: compare real measurements

Do not assume the same letter size fits alike. Convert the fan chart’s chest circumference to flat width before comparing it with the player chart, then compare shirt length and your preferred fit.

Compare the same measurement

The fan chart uses chest circumference; divide it by two for approximate flat width. The player chart already uses flat chest width. A fan M is 106 cm circumference, about 53 cm flat, whereas player M is 48 cm flat. That is a 5 cm difference in width in these reference charts.

Length matters too

Reference fan M is 75 cm long; player M is 71 cm. A player XL is 52 cm wide and 75 cm long, close to the fan M on these two measurements. This illustrates why letter sizes alone are insufficient; it does not make the two products interchangeable.

Choose by the garment you wear

Measure a shirt you like, then compare both chest width and length. Player cuts are generally closer fitting, but construction varies by style and season. Confirm the selected product’s measurements rather than automatically going up one size.

Check photos and listed options

Use the product photos to inspect the badge and finish. The version label alone does not establish materials or authenticity. Select an offered size and confirm availability with the seller.
